Trager Brothers Coffee at Oakhurst Cafe
local, organic, and all in the family
In addition to the carefully crafted, locally sourced meals we serve at the Oakhurst Cafe, we’re proud to make the star of our coffee bar Trager Brothers Coffee, a family-run business based in nearby Nelson County.
The Trager brothers are John, Kem, and lifelong friend Doug, all of whom fell in love with great coffee while living in Seattle. More than 20 years ago, the three young hopefuls spent their life savings on an espresso cart and packed their bags for humble Charlottesville, Virginia. They set up shop on the University of Virginia Corner and quickly became favorites among the students and locals alike. Since 2007, the brothers have operated their micro-roastery from the beautiful countryside of Nellysford.
Stop by the Oakhurst Cafe for a full selection of gourmet coffee and espresso drinks and know that with each sip of your crafted-with-love dink, you’re sipping a brew that’s certified Organic and Fair Trade and grown without the use of pesticides, herbicides, or toxic fertilizers. As the TBC website says,”It’s better for you, for the enviroment, and for the workers who harvest the beans. You’re getting the good stuff.”
If you don’t have time to stop by Oakhurst for a quick sip on your way to campus (or you’d like to take the TBC experience home with you when you leave town), you can order their coffee online at TBCRoasters.com.
